I had travelled through Southeast Asia with little money and a backpack after graduating from Arizona State. I was like lots students walking around with a guidebook and talking of home. When I returned home I had culture shock, I knew I still wasn’t ready for 9 to 5. I had to go back to Thailand and see if I could stay there blend in and teach English. I loved the friendliness of the people but I had to make money somehow.

I found the TESOL Voyages course from the many programs out there. It was priced right and American. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. Working quickly through the lessons I gained an understanding of what it meant to be an effective ESL teacher. I became interested in teaching and wanted to be a good teacher.

I’m now in Chaing Mai where I enjoy a culture of sanuk, meaning to take pleasure in what you are doing.

With my TESOL Voyages Certificate I immediately found private students.  When an Australian couple left, they begged me to take over their students at a small school. I now work when I want and really enjoy my work.

TESOL Voyages really changed my life.

Thanks to all you guys,
Jenny in Chaing Mai
